Presentations at Vermont Schools

CLEA on the Road! - CLEA Presentations Spring 2002

CLEA and Brattleboro Union High School students were on the road across the state of Vermont this spring, giving workshops and presentations on the issue of child labor and how to organize a CLEA chapter in a school. Several schools were also interested in the Building a School Project in Guatemala, and BUHS students who were on the trip shared their experiences and showed a short video about the project.

Presentations took place at the following locations:

  • Brattleboro Area Middle School, January 9th
  • Guilford Elementary School, January 22nd - presentation on the Guatemala project
  • Dover Elementary School, January 28th - presentation on the Guatemala project, 6th grade
  • Bellows Falls High School, January 28th - supporting the development of the Bellows Falls CLEA Chapter
  • Mt. Mansfield High School, January, 30th - presentation and chapter development
  • Student Congressional Hearing with Congressman Sanders, April 8th - State House, Montpelier
  • Dover Elementary School, May 8th - CLEA Open House for Parents, CLEA table
  • Proctor High School, Proctor, May 17th - Greg Mott's World History Class (pictures above)
  • Brattleboro Union High School, May 24th - Diversity Day presentations
  • The Putney School, May 25th - workshop at their Youth Activism Conference "Our Future is Not for Sale: Youth Organize for Global Justice"

Dover Elementary School
Dover, Vermont - 24 May 2001

CLEA students presen child labor issues to
sixth grade students at Dover Elementary School.
Students were encouraged to pursue their interests
at the CLEA web site and through other resources.
